Fruitcakes, by Renee George

Blurb:
Donner Thomas has been put into a mental hospital two weeks before Christmas because, after a minor head injury, he claims he sees magical creatures--elves, fairies, trolls, etc--walking around masquerading as regular human beings. His suspicions are pleasantly confirmed when he meets his new roommate, the gorgeous Bran O'Byrne.

Bran is one of Santa's Elves. In human guise, Bran gets piss-drunk the night before he is supposed to travel to the North Pole (they don't all live in the north!), brags about being an Elf to the wrong people, and now he's been placed in lock-down for 72 hours of observations. If he doesn't get to the next transport window by morning, he'll lose his job at Santa's shop, and there just isn't much he's good at other than looking good and making toys.

Sparks fly when these two meet, and they are fated to an encounter neither one of them will ever forget.

My Review :

Of course Renee would be able to make me emotional and bring me close to tears.....
I cannot believe how easily such a short story, got under my skin! It is definitely one of my favourite Christmas stories and I will be re-reading frequently!
Five stars are not enough, but unfortunately that's how the system works..... Do yourselves a favour and get this book now!!!!! ~ Kiki

About Renee:
Multi-published, award-winning author Renee George has been a factory worker, an army medic, a nurse, a website designer, a small press editor, an artist, and a teacher, but writing stories about sexy alpha men is the BEST job she's ever had. When she turned thirty, she went back to college and earned her BA in creative writing. She has been married to the love of her life, a wonderful man who supports in every way, for over half her life (and that is a VERY long time!). She happily lives in a small, Midwest town with her husband, two needy dogs and a very independent cat.
